Time to Believe Something New?

Happy Friday evening, my friends. We have just completed our first week on Kauai. For the first time ever we are working our jobs from here. It’s something we wanted to try for years. It’s worked out great!

We get up at 3 a.m. Hawaii time and work until 11. Then we have the whole afternoon to play. Finally, we’re off to bed at dark to do it all over again. We’ll do it again next week.

This place always brings insight. I was thinking this afternoon how committed we are to maintaining our ideas about the world even when it’s clear we’ve outgrown them.

Tradition, social pressure, even the habitual gravity of our own thinking van hold us right where we are long after it makes sense.

Even our politics has a derogatory word for someone who changes their mind – flip-flopper. So committed are we to being committed to old paradigms that we punish leaders who evolve in their thinking.

What about you and me? I’m willing to bet there’s at least one area of your life right now that you’re holding on to ideas you no longer hold because it’s easier and safer.

We are evolutionary beings. Have the courage to choose new beliefs. People might not like it. They may feel betrayed, but it serves no one to keep being who you no longer are.

Wherever you are on your journey today, remember you’re awesome!

Motivational Quote for Thursday December 9, 2021

Hey, my friends. Happy Thursday!

I coined this quote a few years ago and I refer to it regularly. I find it balances me on both ends of the spectrum.

It reminds me that I can’t achieve everything today. That relieves the stress of unrealistic expectations for any single day. On the side, it reminds me that I’m on a long journey with many milestones, many opportunities to achieve anything I want to achieve. It gives ,e the confidence to know that I have the time and the space and the right to pick things up again tomorrow.

Ben Franklin famously said, “Small strokes fell great oaks.” This quote is that vein. Keep at it whatever goal your chasing. Make a little progress each day and soon you’ll be standing in the winners’ circle.

Wherever you are on your journey today, I believe in you.

Fire Your Self-Doubt

Today I fire my self-doubt and buy into my potential.

You can spend your life wallowing in self-doubt or you can make a new decision. You can decide you’re going to buy into the potential that is within you.

You can believe better things are ahead for you and you have agency in making them a reality.

Maybe your experiences to-date have taught you to doubt yourself and your abilities. Maybe events in your life started that mindset rolling down hill, picking up power and speed ever since,

I assure you, though, you have the power within you to think different thoughts and create a totally new life experience.

Start today. I believe in YOU. Meet me halfway and believe in you too!

There is No Secret Sauce

This Multiverse is an open book. There is no secret sauce. There is no great secret that everyone else is in on and you’ve somehow been left behind.

It’s all right here and knowable to anyone who seeks with determination and sees with clarity.

Is it easy? No. The Multiverse is a perverse trickster appearing in many guises. You’ve been conditioned by a thousand ill-considered paradigms that have sold you your limitedness and and a mythology of disconnection from the whole.

There are no heroes out there to lead you to the truth. The only hero worthy of that journey is the one staring back at you in the mirror each morning.

This is no ego trip run amuck. This is the fundamental truth that each and every one of us, seen clearly in our authenticity, is a tiny replication of the whole and we are able to draw energy and strength we requite from that whole.

Even if you find this hard to believe right now, from your current place on your journey, seek to believe it a little more each day. The truth of it reveals itself the more you shake the cobwebs and see who you truly are.

You are simply amazing! Thank you for your support of this blog and my work!

I Can and I Can’t

Today’s Affirmation

I can, I know I can, and today I am.

Every day, dozens of times a day, you make a fundamental choice for that moment and your future.

That choice is “I can” or “I can’t.”

Each and every time you make that choice you either open the door to new possibilities or you slam that door shut.

Usually, you’re not saying the words out loud. They’re almost subconscious as you approach the decision on how to handle a thousand situations each day.

The key is each choice also builds momentum for the next choice. One “I can” quickly leads to ten more. One “I can’t” does the same.

Soon we’re living whole days, months, and years with one or the other as well-worn approach to life.

It’s never too late to change. Every choice is a new opportunity to put your trust again in “I can.”

Wherever you are on your journey today, know that you are awesome!
