REACH FOR THE STARS!

Hey, everyone

GOOD morning!

Hard as it may be to believe looking around you right now, all of this craziness is presenting us with OPPORTUNITIES for a FAR better world and a FAR more compassionate civilization that serves the needs of ordinary people.

Like all things in life, it’s a choice. We can seize these opportunities or we can be seized by a million possible dystopias that fill our minds.

When we do the latter, who wins? Not us.

I’m a FIRM believer that despite the human past and even the human present, we are a good species at heart. We have enormous potential. We are meant to reach for the stars literally, but first we must raise our faces out of the dirt and toward the sun.

We have 10,000 years of conditioning that mostly divides us, mostly makes us afraid to trust, compels us to hold on to our dogmas in ways that don’t even serve us.

We are better than that. You are better than that. I am better than that.

The inertia of our thinking pulls back into our divisions, back into our fears, back into our tribes.

Just like a rocket headed for space, we have to achieve escape velocity, if we are going to escape the gravity of the past.

It’s hard work. It’s easier just to fade back into “Us” and “Them” thinking. It’s easier to say I’ll do it tomorrow or next week or next year.

It’s tough to say it begins right here and with me.

People often say, “I’ve tried positive thinking and it doesn’t always work.”

It’s true positive thinking doesn’t always work, but it GREATLY increases your chances for happiness and success.

Sadly, negative thinking does nearly always work. No one who ever thought they couldn’t did. No one who ever doubted humanity contributed to its advancement.

In two days here in The United States, we are going to celebrate these words…

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

That’s still the dream we ALL have. We all seek life. We all seek liberty. We all seek the freedom to pursue happiness.

We’ve all fallen short. You have. I have. Our “adversaries” have. The man who penned those words did.

Yet the principles embodied in that statement transcend all our failures to live up to it. Those words brought a change in law. It’s time for us, 244 years later, to finally make it a change in hearts.

We come into this world naked and crying. We all leave the same way. It’s the difference we make in between that matters. I know you came here to achieve something great. We all did.

Let’s get to it. If we all focused more on what we’re here to do and less on the hurdles. amazing things can and will happen.

Everyone stay safe. Everyone stay well. Everyone reach for a star today.

Ocean-Bubble Metaphor – You Are Bigger Than Your Challenges

A few years ago I coined a quote about the ocean and bubbles on the ocean that’s a metaphor for our temporary existence and its far more profound and important significance.

You are timeless not temporary. No matter how often they tell you that you’re small and weak, remember that you roar like the ocean.

Bigger, Bolder, Stronger – Day 332 of 365 Days to a Better You

Today’s Affirmation

I bigger than my doubt! I am bolder than my fears! I am stronger than my obstacles!

Life is unpredictable. Challenges come your way that you never saw coming. Sometimes you can “light and love” your way to all the  success and joy you can handle. Other times, it’s a real slog. In those moments, it is an unquestioning belief in yourself that must prevail in your heart and in your mind.

There’s no faking this one until you make it. As the affirmation above says, you have to be bigger than your doubt, bolder your fears, and stronger than your obstacles. For that doubt, those fears, and those obstacles are coming to shut down your dreams, if you’ll allow it. They can only do that if you give up or if you yield.

Know this! You wouldn’t have this goal or this dream unless its achievement or the journey to chase was critical to your being and your well-being.

Every dream any dreamer ever had, at some moment in the process, came down to the strength of dreamer’s determination to win a victory over those internal and external forces that would snuff it out.

You ARE bigger than your doubts. You ARE bolder your fears. You ARE stronger than your obstacles. You ARE destined for great things!

In case no one else has reminded you today, you are AWESOME!

Merriam-Webster defines confidence as “a feeling or consciousness of one’s powers or of reliance on one’s circumstances.” Dictionary.com describes it as, “belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities; self-confidence; self-reliance; assurance.”

To manifest success in your life, confidence is a characteristic you must develop and magnify. Here are seven affirmations to help.

  1. Confidence Affirmation: My future is coming together precisely as I script it and today I am scripting BIG!
  2. Today I AM the person I came to this planet to be!
  3. I came here to be a great and conscious being and so that is what I am.
  4. Today I AM confidence armored with the power of my beliefs and strength of my abilities.
  5. Life is about choices and today I am making all the right choices for me!
  6. I am always a great bet! Today I am making it happen!
  7. I am bigger than any doubt, bolder than any fear, and stronger any obstacle!

The Confidence Factor – Day 102 of 365 Days to a Better You

Get “The C Factor”

As some of you know, I write sales training for a Fortune 100 company during the day. A few years ago I was tasked with developing a training that would help high-level sales reps selling to our biggest customers be more confident. We dubbed the course “The C Factor.” Catchy, eh?

No matter how cool, how successful, how rich, or how spiritual you may be, every single one of us has insecurities. We must battle them daily if we wish to make the “dent in the universe” we want to make. Confidence is an attribute we can all develop and the best way to overcome the self-doubt.

Here are 10 ways to build your confidence.

  1. Give yourself credit – you are a one-in-a-trillion miracle. You are here to make a difference and make dent. You have everything you need to do just that.
  2. Easy successes – start with small things that give you easy wins and progress to more challenging goals. You may need to do this over and over in life as you embark on new avenues advancement.
  3. Remember past wins – draw strength, courage, insight, and determination from past successes you’ve had in other circumstances. These can and do apply to your newest, most challenging endeavors.
  4. Visualize success before it happens – whether through affirmations, vision boards, or visualization meditation, see yourself succeeding in your mind before you attempt it. As Sun-Tzu wrote, “Every battle is won before it’s ever fought.” See yourself how you want to be. See it, smell it, hear it, taste it, touch. The more senses you can involve the better.
  5. Take your own side – some people are constantly deferring to others. They never take their own side and become their own biggest supporter. This is not to say you act like and arrogant ass. Simply always be in your own corner. Really care about yourself and your dreams.
  6. Help others achieve their goals – nothing gives you more confidence than losing yourself in service to others. You can forget your challenges, loosen your mind, and get a new perspective. All this can help you build your confidence. Plus, you just might put some other people in your corner when it comes to going for your dreams.
  7. Do one thing that scares you – each and every day, do one thing that scares you. Confidence is about stretching yourself. When you “toughen up” in tough situations, it makes everything else easier.
  8. Shush your inner critic – your inner critic is always going to be your harshest critic. It’s not your friend. It’s not there to protect you. It’s there to hold you back and it will if you let it.
  9. Take wise counsel – nothing builds your confidence more than talking to people who have been where you’re going. Why wander in the wilderness when someone can give you a map?
  10. You got this – Stop hiding your light. Start feeding the greatness within you. Yes, you suffer setbacks, but they will make you stronger in the end. All the lessons on your journey become a new confidence within you that you can – and you will -handle anything!
