Miracle in Progress

Hello, fellow Affirmers!

There! Did you see it? There’s a miracle in progress. Where? Everywhere you look. The ants are building ant hills. Your heart is beating, beating, beating. The season is effortlessly changing again. The Earth goes around the Sun, as the Sun goes around the center of the galaxy. Everywhere you look, there’s a miracle.

You’ve heard the expression, “Don’t take your eye off the ball”. I think we should amend that to, “Don’t take your eye off the miracle.”

The moment you take your eye off the miracle, you begin to get into trouble. You start seeing “us” and “them”, “enough” and “not enough”, “future” and “past”, and you worry about all of it. Your worry turns into a soup of negative internal emotions that spill out into your world as unhappiness, anger, hatred, and even violence.

None of this is possible when you have your eye on the miracle. For in that vision of the world, you see how rare, precious, and amazing you are. You see how rare, precious and amazing everyone and everything around you is. We are all survivors, here in this place and time against overwhelming odds. Yet, here making our stand, being who we came here to be, and contributing our own uniqueness to the miracle.

So, when the moment gets you down today, remember the miracle. When you’re tempted fall into negativity and doubt, remember the miracle. It’s always right there, completely self-evident in every moment, if only you’ll look.

Follow your bliss. Experience your bliss. Become your bliss.

As We Thinketh, So Shall We Be

That statement holds a ton of power and also a lot of responsibility. Many people will argue against it, citing all the reasons we’re just powerless leaves floating down the rushing river of existence. I wonder.

We’ve been told that our minds make our world from time immemorial. It’s time for us to start understanding the power we possess to shift the inertia of history and of our lives.

“Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.” -Bhagavad Gita

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought: we are formed and molded by our thoughts.” -Dhammapada

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so shall he be.” -Proverbs 23:7

“You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.” -James Allen

“We become what we think about most of the time.” -Earl Nightingale

“What you think about, you bring about.” -Bob Proctor

“If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, you’re right.” -Mary Kay Ash

You can choose to believe all these sources are wrong or you can get used to the idea that what you need to succeed does and always has resided within you.

Stay inspired!

5 Ways to Mentally Deal with Wars and Rumors of Wars

The world has been mesmerized in recent weeks by the aggressive war in Ukraine initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. I will leave aside commentary on that war in this post. Suffice it to say this is a situation that could have and should have been avoided, but here we are.

The question at hand is how do we deal with the horrific scenes coming out of Ukraine and the fears of this escalating into war between nuclear-armed powers? In many ways, it feels like the nightmare we avoided during the 50 years of the old Cold War.

Here are five ways you can deal psychologically with this situation.

  1. Know your limits – There’s wall-to-wall news coverage on the current horror and speculation on what could happen next. Know when you’ve had enough. Turn it off. You can’t expose yourself to this all day long day after day and expect to stay mentally sound.
  2. Do something constructive – Many feel helpless and a need to “do something.” Figure out a way to help. Donate some money or food. Go volunteer with a group helping over there. Do something to make a positive difference. It can help alleviate that helpless feeling.
  3. See a positive outcome – There’s massive amounts of worry and angst that this awful situation could get even worse, even turn into World War 3. The world and the situation need a large number of people not giving into that energy and staying focused on a positive outcome to this situation.
  4. Look for opportunities – One of my favorite Einstein quotes is, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” What’s going on right now is horrible, but where’s the opportunity? What do I mean? One of the biggest things we can do in a situation like this is learn from the mistakes that led to it. That’s hard to do in the moment, but we must understand that there were ways on all sides to prevent this outcome. We must understand how we missed those and make sure, when we are given the next chance, we don’t miss them again.
  5. See the beyond – This one is related to the previous two. This situation will end at some point. All events – positive and negative – change the landscape of our reality. Fortunately, we have a say in what those changes are. Let’s begin now seeing what is possible for a new and better future coming from this situation. Let’s create the energetic gravity NOW for that better situation.

Finally, I’d say this. The hatreds and divisions forming because of this situation will have to be released when this is over. That will be hardest for the people most affected – the Ukrainians – but we must do it. Those hatreds have no place and no purpose in that better situation in the future. They only serve to continue pulling us backward just as this war is attempting to do.

Wherever you are on your journey today, know that you are awesome!

Dig Deeper Wells

The average water well is 100 to 500 feet deep. As you walk around on the earth’s surface, you can’t see the well water. You could dig 100 thirty-foot holes and not reach one drop of water.

This might frustrate you because digging 100 such holes without return is a lot of work for nothing.

Are you digging shallow wells in your life? Are you spreading yourself so thin that you can’t give any one “well” the time and effort required to get your “well water?”

Whatever your goals, ample time and effort spent on one or a few goals is like digging the well until you hit water. Having too many goals or responsibilities leaves your life pock marked with half dug wells. You might be frustrated because you’re putting in a ton of effort and not getting results.

Power hack:

  1. Try to limit yourself to one to three big goals at a time. How many depends on the goals and how much time you have to devote to them.
  2. Always be reassessing your goals to make sure you’re working on what’s most important. It’s OK to abandon half-dug wells to make room for more important priorities.
  3. When you commit to a goal, dig it all the way until you hit the “well water.”

If the goal’s worth achieving, it’s worth going all the way.

Optimism Affirmations – My Future is Bright Affirmation

Are you optimistic about your future, the world’s future? I find a lot of people are not. Sadly, they’ve bought into the negativity that pervades modern culture.

At a moment, when humans as whole live better and longer than ever before in history, we have managed to turn that into a state of unhappiness, even discord in our lives and in the world.

This affirmation, listened to regularly, infuses your consciousness with the firm belief that the future a bright place filled with amazing opportunities for you. The meditative music makes it perfect for listening any time during the day when you can get a few minutes to close your eyes, relax, and focus.

THE AFFIRMATION

First-person: My future is bright. Amazing people and things are coming to me right now.

Second-person: Your future is bright. Amazing people and things are coming to you right now.

Stop and hear this! You are amazing. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
