2+ Hours – Rain into Thunderstorm – White Noise for Work, Study, or Sleep

Good morning, my friends!

I often love to listen to white noise while I work and sometimes while I sleep. This has become a pretty popular thing to do. I’m going to start creating these environments on my YouTube channel.

Peace and relaxation is every bit as important to our mental and physical well-being as mindset. This is my first foray into that space. I hope you enjoy it.

I’d love your feedback after listening!

Wherever you are on your journey today, know that you are amazing!

75 Minutes of Relaxing and Releasing to Waterfall and Floating Music

Most of the videos on my YouTube channel are affirmations. However, I’ve been wanting to do some recordings that are the extended relaxation and nature videos. These have become quite popular there in recent years.

So, here’s my first foray into that sphere. This 75-minute recording features a jungle waterfall and pool including the white noise of flowing water and floating electronic music.

The piece is perfect for sleep, meditation, yoga, or other moments or relaxation. Of course, I had to add an Affirmation Spot twist. There are about two dozen #RayQuotes interspersed throughout the video.

I’d really love your feedback in the comments below or on YouTube. Did this recording hit the mark for you? If not, how can I make the next one better?

As always, thank you for reading and supporting this blog. Wherever you are on your journey today, remember you are awesome!

Don’t Just Do Something Sit There – Day 13 of 365 Days to a Better You

Don’t just do something. Sit there.
~John Kabat Zinn

teacup-2324842_640It’s Day 13. You’ve been pondering and working hard thus far on new or revisited ideas to shift the trajectory of your life. Action, action, action is necessary, if you are going to make the difference you hope to make.

The clever quote above reminds you, though, that you don’t always have to be doing something. Sometimes you need to take a break and just be for a while.

Blaise Pascal went even further. “All humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” Kurt Vonnegut chimed in, “I am a human being, not a human doing.”

You must do to achieve in the world, but you must learn to be occasionally if you want all you’re doing to have an impact.

So, today your mission is to do nothing related to your goals and dreams. Set them aside. Focus on drinking in the people, places, and things around you.

Oddly enough, the universe often rewards our relaxation with new insights not afforded to those who push the pedal to the metal without breaks. The writer and artist William S. Burroughs confirms this principle, “Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer.”

Relax and enjoy your day off!

The Two-Minute Vacation – Day 9 of 365 Days to a Better You

Take a Two-Minute Vacation

Good morning, my friends

Welcome to the ninth day of 2019. April and I are headed on the road this evening. We’ll be spending a few days in L.A. and then traveling on to Kauai. I’m super pumped. It’s been a couple years since we’ve been to our favorite place on Earth!

It’s interesting how the energy of certain places just resonates with us. We feel like we’ve temporarily stepped out of time and space. We get a moment to breathe again. Where is that for you?

If you know where that is for you, I want you to stop what you’re doing, sit back, and close your eyes.

I want you to think about your favorite place in the world. It might be somewhere close to you or some dream vacation destination. Make sure it’s that one place in the world where you feel your absolute best.

OK. Got it? Close your eyes and take a deep breath. For the next 30 seconds, I want to you to completely experience that place. Visualize the sites, hear the sounds, smell the smells…be there. Be there for 60 seconds.

Open your eyes. I bet you FEEL a lot better than you did 60 seconds ago. Drink in that feeling. Try to maintain that energy as you go through the rest of your day.

Finally, do me a favor. Make plans, as soon as you are able, to return to that place. There’s a reason you feel so good there. You need to spend more time. Whatever it takes, make it happen! You’re worth it!

I believe in your dreams! Meet me halfway and believe in them too.

Wednesday greetings,

It’s Wednesday. The stresses of the work week have been accumulating for three days now. You’ve got fires to put out and deadlines to meet. Take a quick break.

Join me in a little exercise. It takes just two minutes and I guarantee it will bring peace to your day and smile to your face. You can do it right in your cube or office.

man_beach_hphones_rs.jpgI want you to think about the most beautiful place you have ever been. It might be Hawaii, the Caribbean, The Grand Canyon. Anywhere is fine as long as you make sure it is the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen.

OK. Got it? Close your eyes and take a deep breath. For the next 30 seconds, I want to you to completely experience that place. Visualize the sites, hear the sounds, smell the smells…be there.

Great! You probably feel a little better than you did 30 seconds ago. Let’s continue.

Now I want you think about some upcoming event or activity that has you a little nervous. It can be work-related or personal. OK. This time I want you to see yourself performing that task in the most successful way you can imagine. Put aside all your concerns and focus on the absolute best outcome.

sales_yes_rs.jpg Close your eyes again and take another deep breath. For the next 30 seconds, I want you to see yourself “knocking this one out of the park”. Feel the successful outcome. Hear the kudos from colleagues, friends, or family. Be aware of the benefits that will come from this success. Enjoy your moment in the limelight.

How are we doing? Are we smiling yet? Feeling more confident and relaxed?

Last one. I want you to think about the one person in this world that you love the most. I want you to experience the feelings you feel when you get to spend an entire day uninterrupted with that person.

young_woman_reddress1.jpgClose your eyes, deep breath…you know the routine. Feel the feelings you feel when you are around this person. Let those wonderful feelings fill your heart, stir in your gut, or well in your eyes. Let the warmth you feel inside spread to the rest of your body. Remember the good times you’ve spent together. That time at the beach…the time you got caught in the rain…the time you painted the house…whatever good memories come up.

Open your eyes. I’ll bet you feel happier, more relaxed, and that a smile has come to your face. Now, get on with your day and keep these feelings with you no matter what you face.

Have a peaceful and productive Wednesday!
