Opportunity Affirmations

Today’s Thought:

“Not knowing when the dawn will come, I open every door.”
~Emily Dickinson

focus on success magnifying glassIf there is one defining difference between positive thinkers and negative thinkers, successful people and unsuccessful people, happy people and unhappy people; it must be their responses to opportunity.

Those on the negative of scale see few opportunities. It’s not enough for opportunity to knock on their door. They expect opportunity to break their door down and plead with them to pursue it. They go through life with arms crossed, doubting everything and everyone, and hanging a big “NO” sign on their foreheads. They can see only the risk and not the reward. And life obliges by constantly appearing risky and saying “NO” to them.

Those on the successful side see opportunities everywhere and are always listening for the lightest knock of opportunity upon their doors. “Never knowing when the dawn will come,” as Dickinson says, these people position themselves to say “YES” to life because they know that is how life will say “YES” to them. They know that there is no reward without risk, but they are able to focus on the rewards. And life obliges by bringing both opportunity and reward their way.

Which are you? When someone comes to you with an idea, do you try to see the vision or do you look for the nearest escape hatch? Do you dream and follow your dreams or consider them a meaningless waste of time? You see, life is watching and it is constantly manifesting precisely what you expect from it.

Here are 13 opportunity affirmations written to help you commit to seizing opportunities and running with them. Dream on!

  1. Today is MY day! The winds of opportunity are blowing my way!
  2. Every day is blank and I am eager to fill it up with new possibilities!
  3. I see opportunities! I seize opportunities! I capitalize on opportunities!
  4. The more opportunities I listen to, the more opportunities I find!
  5. When I am ready to try, I am ready to fly!
  6. When I open the door for opportunity, I open the door for my dreams!
  7. When opportunity knocks, I am the first one to the door!
  8. As long as there is breath, there is opportunity!
  9. Opportunity is everywhere for me! My personal economy is booming!
  10. My missed opportunities are really my new opportunities!
  11. I say YES to life and life says YES to me!
  12. Defeat is my opportunity! Victory is my opportunity! Every circumstance is my opportunity!
  13. The Universe showers me with opportunities and today I make the most of them!

Follow your bliss. Experience your bliss. Become your bliss.

I plan to record this and add it to the website in the near future, but decided to share the text today. If you read this to yourself, you can feel your confidence rising and your stress melting away. Why a manifesto? This self-dialogue is full of self-declarations of your readiness to move forward to healing, success, peace, or whatever your immediate goals are.candle1.jpg

The first key is to realize that you have the courage, the wisdom and the strength within you to make the changes you want to make in your life; to bring about the healing you seek. For, in truth your healing comes from within. Others may facilitate or act as mediators, but it is the healer within you that is bringing about the miracle you are receiving right now. Know this deeply.

Focus your healing energies on bringing about an end to your suffering. This healing is occurring within you right now. It is not far off in the future. Your healing is a reality right now in this moment. You are experiencing a complete healing. Your mind, body, emotions, and spirit are all benefiting. Joy is increasing and expanding in your life exponentially. Your horizons are growing brighter and brighter.

You are opening your heart and your mind to possibilities you had never before considered. Right now you are accepting that anything and everything is possible for you. You understand that the circumstances in your life are always perfect to create the highest version of yourself. Your tools, your gifts, and your talents are more than enough to create a life of abundant success and happiness. Feel the joy increasing in your life.

Feel your confidence rising. There is no situation you cannot handle. There are no limits to what you can achieve. Nothing can occur that you can’t learn from and turn to your advantage. As your joy increases and your happiness manifests; there is less room for fear in your life, less room for self-doubt. These aspects of yourself are clearly decreasing in your life.

In fact, you are, as I speak, releasing your fears, releasing your self-doubt. They serve no purpose in your life. So you are releasing them and letting them go. You are successful. You think like a success, you talk like a success, you act like a success. You are a success!  Your success is complete; encompassing all aspects of your life.

Your spiritual life is a success, your career is a success, and your relationships are a success. You are a success. And success means progress in every area of your life. You are releasing the habitual patterns of thought and action that have held you back in the past.

You are releasing thoughts and actions that limit you in any way, shape, or form. By releasing these limiting patterns in your life; you are now completely free to live your life in this moment and to create your highest good in the here and now. You are determined to be fully present in the experience of now. You are intuitive, creative, and spontaneous in creating your new life – each moment, each day.

Feel the harmony, strength, and confidence this knowing creates deep within you. You are becoming the person you always knew you could be right this moment!

Peace…

Maximum Impact Opportunities (MIOs) – The Affirmation Spot for Tuesday October 9, 2007

Today’s affirmation is:

“I prepare so that I maximize my opportunities when they count.”

Good morning. We spent a beautiful day yesterday at Epcot at Walt Disney World in Orlando. We attended some wonderful shows and saw some amazing things!

One of my favorite attractions was a virtual ride called Soarin’. It was an ingenius combination of motion technology and IMAX images that created an exceptionally realistic experience of hang-gliding over scenic parts of the United States. It was breath-taking.

The experience itself was only about eight minutes, but the line to get in was almost two hours. It occurred to me that our lives are very much like that. We spend so much time preparing for those big moments and so we want to make them count.

Think about a major league baseball player who dreamed from the time he was 10 of being at the plate in the bottom of the ninth of game seven of the World Series with the game on the line. He prepared his whole life for that moment and when it arrives it is such a brief blip built on a lifetime of work and preparation.

For most of us the stakes are not quite that dramatic, but we all have these relatively few key moments – maximum impact moments (MIOs) – or experiences on which our lives turn. We work for weeks, months, or years on something only to have come down to a few minutes.

Maybe you’re a salesperson who has been working for two years to get an opportunity to pitch to this big client, or football coach who always dreamed of coaching in the big game, or an actor looking for his or her big break.

Each situation comes down to a few minutes in front of that client, a single game, or that big audition.

The difference between people who succeed and those who do not is that they prepare themselves to take advantage of their MIOs. They do the long preparation and are prepared to harvest it when it comes.

I waited two hours for that eight minutes on Soarin’. I was determined to take every second of it in and maximize my experience.

We can do the same in life. During the long hard work towards our personal MIOs, we can stay motivated by remaining focused on that one shining moment that will be the result. Once we are in that moment, enjoy, experience, and achieve. That moment is yours. You earned it!

Make today peaceful, positive, and prosperous Tuesday.

The Affirmation Spot Affirmation of the Day – Wednesday August 29, 2007

Today’s affirmation is:

“Roadblocks are simply shortcuts to something better than I had planned.”

Seeing the Opportunity in “Roadblocks”

When you hit a “roadblock” in your life…stop…wait. Often roadblocks are viewed as something negative. We don’t like our plans to be foiled and it can be pretty frustrating. However, if we can avoid the initial negative reaction, we may find that the “roadblock” is in fact a gateway to something better than we had planned.

Sometimes the things we initially view as “roadblocks” – because they interfere with our plans – are actually possibilities we had not even considered.

Today when something seems to be interfering with your plans try looking for the opportunity in it. You may find that “roadblocks” can transform into gold mines.

Peace…
