Limitless Beings Trapped in Limited Mindsets

We so often think we are powerless when we are anything but.

True, our forms have limits, but that only reminds us we are here to work together.

Our minds, when rightly focused and purposely freed from conditioning, are connected to the consciousness that beats hearts and spins galaxies.

Our mission, should we choose to accept it, is to stop seeing ourselves as this form that lives a few decades, eventually gets sick, and dies; and start identifying our consciousness with the consciousness that underlies all that was, is, and ever will be.

Are Affirmations Enough?

Are affirmations enough?

Nope. Not if they’re just rote words you say or read or listen to.

There are two ways affirmations do their work. There is power in “subconscious” affirmations delivered subliminally or listened while you sleep. This approach requires intense repetition, but given time, it can be very effective.

For some, that conscious skeptic or cynic can interfere with affirmation acceptance and belief. Going around that negative inner voice is great way to undermine that voice at its subconscious roots.

For affirmations recited or read or listened to consciously, they will be utterly ineffective if they’re mere words to you.

They must be words that carry the fire of belief and a deep commitment to see them achieved. They must stoke emotion and determination.

The key is to figure out which strategy is most effective for you – flooding your subconscious with better thoughts or consciously “practicing” with affirmations each day.

I’ve had success with both over the years, but others succeed with one or the other.

So, what’s the answer? Are affirmations enough? Affirmations are one tool in your mindset and spiritual development toolkit. Used correctly and appropriately for you, they are a workhorse for shifting your thinking, your perspective, and your life.

Wherever you are on your journey today, you are awesome!

Remembering Who We Truly Are is the Cure

People say our divides are too wide and our differences too much.

Sorry, but I have to call BS on that. If we focus the surface – the masks, roles, and containers – then those people are right.

When we go a layer deeper and remember these forms that seem to separate us are all made of star dust, we begin to see the commonality and unity.

When we go one more step – beyond the material – to the level of consciousness, we smack our foreheads and say, “What was I thinking? Now I remember.”

We remember that we are conscious beings all and call connected to the cosmic consciousness that is our true root system. We remember that we are here playing these games in time and space for the growth, the experience, and the fun.

But, some might counter, “That’s nice but how does it solve inequality, injustice, and suffering?”

To that I reply, no one who has truly understood the truth about who we all are – every one of us – will ever permit any of those ills to be visited upon themselves or anyone else.

Forgetting, separation and the fear they cause are the real problem. Remembering, unification and the love they evoke are the solution.

Everything Happens for a Reason

“Everything happens for a reason.” I’ll bet most of us have uttered that phrase a few hundred times in our lives.

Often it’s in a moment when something happens that doesn’t make sense or seems unfair. It’s a way to buoy your spirit in a tough moment.

I wonder, though. Do you really believe it? Do you believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason? That would mean that literally nothing happens without a reason and literally everything serves a purpose.

It’s a challenging belief to hold in the face of tragedy and injustice, but it’s also a transcendently powerful belief. Hers why.

If you believe it, then this moment, whatever it is has a purpose. Your life and all your experiences have a purpose. The same is true for every other person and living being around you.

Life has a purpose. The spin of the solar system and the galaxy has a purpose. The universe itself and whatever lies beyond has a purpose.

Their are no accidents, missteps, or mistakes. Everything, despite how it seems, plays a role in the utter perfection and perfect timing of everything else.

For we mere mortals, stuck in the push and pull of time and space, it takes profound wisdom to see the perfection of the big picture. That’s especially true when that perfection means challenge and heartache for us.

Yet, the big perfection requires us all to sacrifice a little for its achievement.

So, the next time you use that phrase, consider the power behind those words and strive to see the bigger perfection beyond this self and this moment.

Wherever you are on your journey today, you are awesome!
