Better Mindsets Are a Geopolitical Necessity

Better mindsets, long a cornerstone of personal development, have become even more important in a collective sense.

We live in a world today where many Individuals have forgotten that personal momentary whims are not more important than hard-earned values and freedoms we achieved through the struggles of a hundred human generations.

Major nations, seemingly having forgotten the horrors of global war, cavalierly throw out threats and actual,y threaten each other, without concern for the consequences to the planet or our species.

Just as many of us seek to improve and advance our lives through more empowering, authentic, and transformative mindsets, the global geo-political environment requires nations and corporations and other institutions to do the same.

We live in a world that generates too many economic and political losers, eliciting anger and fear. We’ve lost any real sense, within nations and among nations, that we’re in this together and that the advancement and thriving of every human being must be our highest aspiration.

We live in a world where global powers play games of one-upmanship, as though we still live in a world where our conflicts will be resolved on horseback and with swords.

There’s little to no organized effort to solve the ills faced by most human beings in this planet unless it serves the interest of profit or power.

I know a message like this seems at odds with the positive vision I normally advocate on this blog.

Empowering our minds does not happen in a vacuum. As our civilization advances, we must have the vision to believe that “the good life” of choices and self-determination are the birthright of every human being simply because they’re human.

I think one of the big reasons for this state of affairs is people vote out of fear over aspiration. They allow their thinking to be molded by people with and overt goal of creating division in an attempt to make the status quo – their status quo – seem like the best we can possibly do.

As with all major changes, these must begin within us. If we don’t engage in aspirational, empowered, visionary thinking, we cannot be a vehicle for influencing the world in those positive ways. In fact, we’re very likely to get sucked into the negative swirl of thinking that re-manifests the world I’m talking every single day.

Our minds are information vacuums. If we don’t fill them with thoughts of our choice, someone else will.

Wherever you are on your journey today, know that you are awesome!

The Sage Who Sees – Day 260 of 365 Days to a Better You

Thank you so much for taking a few minutes to read today’s post.

Do you ever feel different; like you don’t quite fit in with the ways of this world? I do. It’s not something I came to as an adult. It’s who I’ve been my entire life. It’s like what’s intuitive to me is counterintuitive to our civilization. My polarities are reversed.

My own mother once asked, “Why can’t you just fit in?” Do you vibe with that?

There’s a great quote in the Bhagavad Gita that explains why you and I might feel this way.

“In the dark night of all beings awakes to Light the tranquil man. But what is day to other beings is night for the sage who sees.”

    • The world lusts for war. You seek only peace.
    • The world strives for bottom lines. You believe people are the bottom line.
    • The world adulates at the alter of fear. You have always known love is the answer.
    • The world wants to be cool. You’d rather be wise.
    • The world looks without. You have always gone within.
    • The world sees the dark clouds. You see the bright sun behind the dark clouds.
    • The world clamors for instant gratification. You opt for sustainable gratitude.

I’ve long suspected something. While you and I see ourselves a unique, I’m not so sure we’re that unique. Maybe what comes natural to us is the secret yearning of most people. In fact, I’m certain of it. They simply can’t bring themselves to believe it’s possible. They retreat into the herd safety of the mass consciousness.

As the sage who sees, I believe our mission is to light the path to this greater realization the same as our teachers and mentors have lighted it for us.

Your poles are not reversed because there’s something wrong with you, Don’t give into the gravity of that thinking. Your poles are reversed because you’re here to be a beacon to the world that can be if only a critical mass of people would believe. And today, today, we’re one step nearer than ever before.

You’re absolutely awesome just as you are! Keep following your bliss!

Today, since this is a blog of positive and empowered thinking, I decided to find all the positives about China’s role in Tibet and post them in one place.

    Here is the complete list:

No, I’m not using a white font. It’s a very short list. China (the regime not the people), go home! Fifty years of brutal occupation, repression, and social re-engineering to bolster your unwarranted claim on the Tibetan plateau must end. The fact that western governments and businesses are too indebted and dependent on you to call your policies what they are, is of no consequence.

His Holiness The Dalai Lama  Tibetan Children  Tiananmen Square Tank Stand Off

The Dalai Lama has more credibility in the hearts and minds of the people of this planet than your regime. That is why you have to resort to calling him names and spreading lies about him.

Dear, readers, who do you trust?

One of the Dalai Lama’s (Text of 1989 Nobel Peace Prize Speech) favorite quotes:

    “As long as space remains,
as long as sentient beings remain,
    may I too remain
and dispel the miseries of the world. “

The Chinese government’s actions in Tibet over the years:

Well, their actions speak for themselves. Religious and political repression, destruction of Tibetan culture, human rights violations, and a repopulation strategy designed to extinguish Tibetan identity. NICE!

The best measure of whether or not Tibet is part of China is the view of the Tibetan people. They don’t believe they are Chinese. I guess that settles it.

The Olympics are a great, global event. They embody sportsmanship, brotherhood, and peace. They are an opportunity for a nation to show itself in a favorable light. Another regime tried to polish its image when it hosted The Olympics in 1936.  The Olympics are a majestic and wonderful stage. However, they cannot hide the brutal face of an authoritarian regional hegemon oppressing its peaceful neighbor under the pretext of helping it.

Go home and let the Tibetan people have their culture. What a concept (President Bush, are you listening?) in a world where global powers attack others “for their own good.”

The Olympics have given China the world stage. And the world is watching.

Be peaceful Be prosperous Be positive!
