Snowy October Morn

Our friends and family said move back to Kansas City from Massachusetts. So we did. However, at least on this October morning, it looks like we brought a little New England home with us to the Midwest.

What’s your weather like today?

You Do You – Day 278 of 365 Days to a Better You

Oscar Wilde was a 19th century social commentator known for his sharp wit and keen insights. He rivals Will Rogers in the number of approachable pieces of wisdom.

Among my favorite Wilde quotes is, “Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.”

BAM! Please, please, please don’t spend your life trying to please others. You’re not made of rubber. Don’t twist yourself into unnatural shapes trying to fit in. Never spend days, hours, or a lifetime wishing you were someone else – taller, smarter, richer, or better looking.

You’re a once-in-a-universe miracle. I think that makes you pretty damn special and worth being yourself.

Here are some original quotes and affirmations I’ve coined over the years to help inspire you to simply be you.

  • It costs nothing to believe in yourself and everything not to.
  • Be yourself! You bring unique gifts and perspectives to the table necessary for the very functioning of the Universe.
  • Fame? Anyone can become famous. Now, greatness – there is an aspiration!
  • Your greatness is revealed not by the lights that shine upon you, but by the light that shines within you.
  • In a world that works so hard to churn out conformity, the courage to be yourself is revolutionary.
  • See your greatness and help those around you to see theirs too.
  • Let your greatness not your doubts have the last word.
  • Lean into your greatness today.

  • Right here, right now, I make a stand for who I am.
  • I may not be perfect, but I am always awesome.
  • Today I am absolutely committed to being the person I came to this planet to be!

Shine on, my friends, shine on!

No Soda November -Day 277 of 365 Days to a Better You

Today’s Affirmations

Today I make better choices where it counts for my life!
Today I sacrifice a little to improve a lot.
Today I accept the challenge to better myself and better my life!

Can you believe it? By the end of this week, we’ll be into the final two months of 2019. It’s been a whirlwind year for April and me. We started the year with no idea we’d be leaving Boston. Now a crazy cross-country move and a few months of acclimating back into life in Kansas City have caused this year to be a blur in some ways.

However, I’ve worked hard to keep focused on the goals I set back in January – this blog series and revitalizing The Affirmation Spot among them – and be as conscious as possible, while drinking from a fire hose. I’m sure you can relate!

Let’s finish the year strong together! Dr. Pepper is my coffee. I drink it in the morning to get going and usually with one other meal. That’s too much and I know it. Earlier in the year, I did a successful 10-day moratorium on it. Now, I’m taking the next step.

I’m completely giving up Dr. Pepper and all soda for the month of November. April enjoys a glass of wine at night. She is giving up wine for the month so we tag-team this.

Here’s my challenge to you.

What’s sone thing that you know you shouldn’t be eating or drinking as much as you do? What’s something you’d be willing to join me in giving up for one month to help you close 2019 strong?

I’d love it if you feel comfortable leaving a comment below to share what you’re willing to give up in November. If not, it can be your secret, but I encourage you to make a principled effort to accept this challenge.

Let’s do it together! We’ll be better. We’ll be a little bit healthier. We’ll demonstrate our ability to take control in our lives where it matters.

I’ll be posting throughout tNovember to share progress and insights. I don’t think I’ve gone this long without soda in decades. I’ve got the water and the tea and juice ready.

Our mission all year has been to expand our minds, broaden our vision, and live a better life. This challenge is a tangible way for us to do that!

In case no one else has told you today, YOU ARE AWESOME!

Humanity Awakens One Person at a Time Starting with You – Day 276 of 365 Days to a Better You

Good Tuesday, my friends. This post roams into my other main area of interest – human beings. Who are we really? How did we get here? Where are we headed? As some of you know I wrote a novel – first of a trilogy – titled Anunnaki Awakening. In that book, I go into more of the details of what I’m about to write. For me, human awakening and empowerment are massively connected to us unraveling a past far different from what many assume is true. Our awakening is literally our freedom.

The word awakening is thrown around a lot these days. People are always imploring others to “wake up” to this idea or that.

What is awakening, really? Awakening is more than recognizing the world is not ordered in a way that benefits ordinary human beings, though that’s a start. It’s more than realizing there’s a cabal of people driving much of the chaos and angst on our planet, though that’s true. It’s more than being angry about these things and ranting and raging about them because the end result of that, at best, is to replace one angry system with another.

If you understand all these things, you’ve got one eye uncovered.

Maybe you’ve picked up on the alien involvement in our civilization from the get-go and how these gods small g substituted themselves in place of the true intelligence behind this multiverse. Maybe you’ve identified how they enslaved humanity’s mind, made us feel unworthy and sinful for being who we are, and threatened us with judgement and damnation. Maybe you’ve noticed how these mindsets figure into the bloody headlines in our world today and millions of people feeling hopeless and not reaching their potential. Maybe you see its ultimate expression – a rampant blaming and hatred of our own species that leads only to us implementing our destruction for the puppet masters.

You’re starting to uncover the second eye.

Full awakening comes when we realize that we are more than the witnesses to the problems. We are the carriers of the solutions. We aren’t here in this time and place to hasten the destruction of the human race. We’re here to bring about a transformation that releases the literal and mental shackles, ends the divisions we’ve been handed to keep us weak, and allows us to take our rightful place among the sentient beings in this galaxy.

If you’re still stuck in let’s get mad, let’s burn this baby down, that’s a natural first reaction to becoming aware, but it’s not being awake. We are here to create, here to transform, here to tip the balance from fear to love.

When your mind and your heart arrive at that realization. When your hands and your feet work at it every day, that’s awakening. That’s you being the person you came here to be and making the difference you came here to make.

Keep your eyes open. Keep broadening your perspective. Keep thinking bigger then you ever have before.
