10 Powerful Second-Person Affirmations to Start Your Day Right

Good morning, my friends. Tons of projects going on at the day job and in my personal life. I haven’t been able to blog as much as I’d like to the past few weeks. Thank you stick with me.

What’s a second-person affirmation? Second-person affirmations are affirmations phrased with you rather than I. They are powerful for replacing old thoughts and programming that you received from the outside. I’ve found, over the years, that they work better than I affirmations for moving old thoughts that you received from other people out of your mind.

They also have a different vibration a certain power that’s different than I affirmations. Both are important and I recommend using both.

Here’s 10 to start your day right today.

Just in case no one else has reminded you today, you ARE awesome!

Mindset Matters in the Face of Pandemic

Even in this moment of legitimate concern, let us remember that our mindsets are more important now than ever. Feeling depressed, a sense of fear, or a sense of loss is normal. We’ve all had our lives turned upside down and it’s just beginning.

However, our minds are powerful allies or adversaries in crisis. Study after study has shown that a healthy outlook boosts immune systems. More than that, though, a healthy mindset prevents our minds from joining in on a negative spiral and keeps us strong in the face of the negative, if necessary, sobriety of the news.

As I’ve been reminded in amazing posts by my friends Dennis Nappi II and Kat Hobson this week, crisis is also possibility and opportunity. The world is going to slow down for many of us in the near future. It’s time to reflect, reassess, and get regrounded. Turn off the noise some. Be thankful for what you have and the people around you.

We’re all in this together….now more than ever.

Let’s stay strong and remember who we are and what we’re capable of.

Just in case no one has reminded you today, you’re awesome!

2020 New Year’s Affirmations – Day 318 of 365 Days to a Better You

Today’s Thought:

“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.”
~ Bill Vaughn

As you look at that quote, which one fits you? If you’re in the first group, please keep that momentum flowing in your life and the world as you impact it in 2020. If you’re in the latter group, a new year is a new start. It’s a chance to ask whether that way of seeing the world is getting you where you want to go in life.

2020 promises to be an intriguing year. The divisiveness in our culture is running high. Many believe, “I have no choice. I must be at war for my ideas and my ideas must prevail 100 percent all the time.”

Such thinking doesn’t think of the well-being of all. Such thinking is eager to divide us against ourselves; a position that defeats us all, defeats our present, and defeats our future.

This not a world that has been thrust upon us. It’s a world we have chosen, even if unconsciously. We’ve dehumanized people for as little as disagreeing with us. These mindsets must not prevail in 2020 and moving forward.

Many still don’t realize, is that our minds (individually and collectively) are not separate from the world “out there”. Our thoughts are, in fact, the root system of the “tree” we see manifested as the “real” world around us. If you dig up a tree, you will find it all stems from its root system. If you dig up our world of events and experiences, you soon see it is made up of our thoughts.

The cross-currents of disempowerment will be many and vocal in this historic year. The pace of change – real and perceived – is going to pick up during this year because of the built up psychological expectations for it. That makes it more important than ever to empower your mind and think the thoughts and envision the world you desire.

I am posting New Year’s Affirmations a little early so that you can begin using them now to get your new year off to a great start. Here are 24 affirmations to get your new year off to an empowering start.

I recommend you begin the year with using either “this year” or “In 2020,” and as you get beyond the change of the year change it to “Today” or “Right now”.

  1. This year I AM the person I came to the planet to be!
  2. In 2020, I AM the change I want to see in my world!

  5. This year I challenge my paradigms to prove their worth and I change those paradigms that fail the test.
  6. In 2020, I choose to live in the sunshine of my possibilities, rather than the shadows of my doubt.
  7. This year my life is built on choices, not chances!
  8. In 2020, I breathe in every experience life has to offer and exhale a life well-lived!
  9. This year I AM the engine of my dreams!
  10. In 2020, my life is what I make of it and I choose to make it a _____ place to be!

Stay inspired!

If You Keep On Doing What You’re Doing – Day 265 of 365 Days to a Better You

Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.
~Robert H. Schuller

You know the rest of the aphorism, “You’ll keep on getting what you’re getting.” I’m here to tell you today that’s not always true. This quote is often used to inspire people who are not acting on their dreams to make a change and take some action.

You, though? You’ve been working your plan, doing all the right things, and you just haven’t caught your lightening in a bottle yet. You stopped doing what you were doing a long time ago and you’re wondering, “When will I see my results?”

Good for you! Good for you that you had the courage to try something different and keep at it! If you’re doing all the right things, then keep on doing what you’re doing!

All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
~Walt Disney

Here are a few quick ways to make sure that doing what you’re doing, will eventually get you what you want.

  1. Test your results – you had a plan at the beginning. Is it working? Do you need to tweak it? If so, what do you need to stop doing, do more of, or do less of?
  2. Time – you may be doing all the right things, but you’re not investing the needed time to get the results as quickly as you’d like. Re-evaluate your time commitment.
  3. Learning – to be really good at anything, you have to keep learning. Are you continuing to build your knowledge in your area of focus? When you “burst onto the scene” in your business or niche or reach your personal objective, all the knowledge you’ve accumulated will be worth and useful.
  4. Investment – are you trying to do the whole thing yourself? With a small investment, could you automate or get some expert advice that will speed up the process and allow you to focus on the most important things.
  5. Distractions – we all have distractions in life. What can you do to minimize yours so that they’re not holding you back.
  6. Mindset – maybe the most important thing you can do is master your mindset. The only person committed to making your dream a reality is you. You may be the only person who really believes in this dream until it makes a splash in the world. You’re the only fan and the only detractor at this point. Which one you choose to be will decide how fast your reach your goals.

Yes! I see you. I see striving. I see you working late into the night or early in the morning around your day job. I see you wanting this SO bad. You just keep on doing what you’re doing and just wait and see what you get!

Love you all. Stay true to your vision of you!

What Do You Believe? – Day 168 of 365 Days to a Better You

Good Monday, my friends. I hope you enjoyed an amazing weekend and that your week is off to a great start. April, Mia, and I are still running with our hair on fire getting ready for our big move now just 11 days away. Remember this evening, before you go to sleep, to spend five minutes focusing on the positive energy from today. This is a fantastic practice to get into right before going off to sleep.

My question for you this evening is, what do you believe? If you believe your future or humanity’s future is bleak, then you have to own that your thinking is contributing to that outcome.

If you believe your future and humanity’s future is bright and brilliant, then your thinking is helping to create that outcome.

The outcome may come immediately in this moment. It may come over years. Either way, the outcome projected by your thinking will become your dominant reality.

Yes. There will be bright spots in the darkness. Yes. The primary rules of this three-dimensional existence will still apply to you. It’s the environment you inhabit along the way that comes directly from your thinking.

To paraphrase Rumi:

Want more thorns? Think about thorns. Want more roses/? Think about roses.

I’m not saying this is always easy. I certainly have my moments and days where I vibrate more thorns than roses. When I do, I get thorns. Yet, with just a gentle shift in your focus, the roses are always ready to appear.

So, I ask you again. What do you believe?

You’re awesome! Stay that way! Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!
