About This Blog

p6090011.jpgWelcome to The Affirmation Spot. I’m thinker, writer, and poet Ray Davis.  The concept for this blog is simple. I want to create a place where you can come to think, gain exposure to new ideas, or take a fresh perspective on things.

I want to create a space where you can recharge your determination to have the life you seek and give you practical ideas for doing so.

Posts are drawn from any area of life (wherever my wandering mind roams) -inspirational stories, famous quotes, politics, sports, or health. Everything you read here has one thing in common – a firm bias towards ideas that empower you to live freely and happily as you pursue your dreams.

I recently founded a website – The Affirmation Spot.com. That website is destined to be the iTunes(TM) of positive thinking. TAS.com currently offers hundreds of mp3 affirmations for download in dozens of categories. The site officially launched on September 1, 2007.

I’ve been writing and recording affirmations, meditations, and other positive thinking tools for more than 15 years. I used affirmations to help me vault from my deathbed at 25 to a full life including a wonderful family, a business, a succesful career. I’ve seen first-hand the difference affirmations can make in attitude and performance in life.

The concept for the blog is to share, discuss, and inspire each other to achieve our full potential. Strange as it sounds we often forget and get sidetracked, sometimes for years. The Affirmation Spot is your daily nudge to stay focused and committed to your passion and, as Joseph Campbell famously said, to “follow your bliss.”

This quote from Marianne Williamson sums it up well.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I have just found this site and feel i was guided to it. I am considering writing me own blog as I have worked as a medium and taken self development classes for 30 years.
I trained to do Louise Hay and have done w/shops with many good teachers in the past. I still enjoy working every day at 69 years old. I have always had a dram and made it come true. I know nothing about blogs until i found your site and thought it a good way to write about my experience and beliefs to all the many people who know me. THANK YOU THANK YOU anyone can dream but it takes guts to put it into action

    Betty,

Thank you so much. Your note made my day! Blogs are a fantastic way to share what you have to say and what you feel with the world.

Your 30 years of classes and experience – and the wisdom they have yielded – are needed by someone out there right now. Your blog is just a way for their need to be connected to your wisdom.

It is my hope every day that my little contribution will cause people to dream and to act.

Please let me know if you need any help getting your blog set up.

    Stay inspired!

    Ray

I also feel as if I was guided to this site. I have been reading and listening to everything lately on Affirmations and the Law of attraction. I hope that I can somehow contribute and learn from this blog.

    Thank you Ray!

Thank you for finding the blog. I’d welcome your participation. Our thoughts are powerful things – our best ally or enemy. When realize that our whole life changes.

Be the person you came here to be! It’s what we are all here to do.
