When Do You Need Your Mind on Your Side Most?

WHEN DO YOU NEED YOUR MIND ON YOUR SIDE MOST?

Our minds are not only more powerful and creative than we know. They’re more powerful and creative than most of us can believe.

We’ve been raised to believe that the world somehow just happens to us out there. We’re not actors, directors, and producers of our lives. We’re kind of intelligent inert rocks with a smile acted upon by forces beyond our control. We’re victims not choosers of our destination and our outcomes.

Even for those of us who know better, this mentality can surface and thrive when we’re tired, weak, feeling defeated, or facing big challenges. In such situations, it’s easy, even comfortable to suppose we’re not responsible and we don’t have say.

Even though, these are the hardest moments to do it, they’re when we most need to put the power of our minds on our side.

When you’d rather believe you’re a victim of circumstance, put your mind on your side and you back in the driver’s seat.

When they’ve told you you’re not capable and you mostly believe them, put your mind on your side.

When challenge or crisis visits your life, put your mind on your side.

When it would be easy to give up and no one else would blame you, put your mind on your side.

When your dreams feel big and distant and your way forward seems blocked, put your mind on your side.

When your egoic mind tries to work against you and beat you down, put your mind on your side.

When the inertia of old paradigms holds you back, put your mind on your side.

It’s precisely those moments when we’d rather roll over and let fate work its will in us, that we need to remember WHO we are, WHAT we are, and that we have this powerful tool at the ready to shift our moment, shift our day, and shift our fate.

Just in case no one else has reminded you today, you are awesome!

I began studying affirmations and positive thinking after a life-threatening illness at 25. My thirst for self-improvement led him to read the writings of Joseph Campbell, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, and many other luminaries in the fields of mythology and motivation. Over time, I have melded these ideas into my own philosophy on self-development. I have written, recorded, and used affirmations and other tools throughout that time to improve my own life and I have a passion for helping other reach for their goals and dreams.
