Today’s Affirmation:

(click to hear it)
“Recession proof…I have the skills and the confidence to compete in a tough economy.”

Today I am looking for some feedback from you. The United States elected Barack Obama as its next president on Tuesday. Now What?

Leave a comment to share your hopes and concerns about the new administration. What do you think are the potential positives about the new administration? What gives you concern? What would you like to see the new president address in his first term?

Most importantly, how do we use this moment to re-empower ourselves as citizens and human beings?

Stay inspired!

  1. Ellen,

Thank you for sharing the link!

It’s a good start towards more responsive government. I think that, more than anything, will tip me off that this administration is headed in the right direction.

It seems we’ve had too much of government not listening – even ignoring the people.

So what are your top hopes for the first term?

    Ray

  2. What do you think are the potential positives about the new administration?

An increased respect globally. As a majority we the people do not believe, in our support acts of non-encouraged aggression overseas. I also believe that President Elect Obama will listen, to what the Generals and Iraqi leader’s goals are; and then will put a timeline to when these are to be accomplished by. We are already aware of what’s Obama’s goals are. Thankfully we have a leader with the skills and the ability to devise a solution, and make strong judgment.

A Middle Class that is willing get out and go to work, as long as there is a job to go to work at. Need to address Trade Agreements to ensure that jobs are being made here by the Companies that are profiting here. New jobs must also be immediately addressed as this is the only thing that is going to correct our economic issues. Until the Middle Class feels comfortable borrowing and spending again, the recession will continue.

    What gives you concern?

A corporately owned Washington paid for by lobbyist. Spending in general, needs to be looked at and scaled back.

What would you like to see the new president address in his first term?

Resume the mission of ridding everyone of Al Qaeda, in Afghanistan. Engage Iran in one way or another, I trust Obama to do what is right is that region. One of the many reasons I voted for him.

  3. I hope he upholds antitrust laws and regulates the economy. That would be a good start. I also hope he shocks the world by appointing a Republican to his cabinet.
