Poem: Love’s Seed

sun in handsToday’s post is simply a poem. I wrote this poem 16 years ago and yet I often find it drifting through my mind when I need to refocus on who I am and why I’m here.

To me, this poem is an affirmation. May you find it as inspiring.

Love was all we knew, when to this world we came.
Yet all our lives we strive so hard to feel its warmth again.
Our blindness is amazing as love lights our path each day.
It fills needs within us and among us in its way.

Love is our true essence beyond this earthly shell.
Love is our very life-blood: the cosmic soup in which we dwell.
Love is the well-spring of our hearts; our creative force.
Love ennobles each of us; draws us to our blessed source.

Love is all there is when we wipe away delusion.
And so we must, together, come to this conclusion:
It is not symbols nor a savior that we need,
but only in each heart to replant love’s healing seed.

My thirst for self-improvement led him to read the writings of Joseph Campbell, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, and many other luminaries in the fields of mythology and motivation. Over time, I have melded these ideas into my own philosophy on self-development. I have written, recorded, and used affirmations and other tools throughout that time to improve my own life and I have a passion for helping other reach for their goals and dreams.
